About The Company
Kuetku Games is an independent mobile game and software developer from Oulu, Finland. It was conceived in the autumn of 2005 and founded as a company in October 2006.
We combine mobile games and applications with location based content and services, with a window to the web. Our aim is to leverage real-world activities and experiences into the next level with the help of communications technology and the art of game design.
Our Philosophy
To make good games takes understanding what makes games tick, understanding what goes on between the game and the player, what makes the inside of the players head light up with imagination. It takes creativity with the necesary touch of madness, vision and the ability to bring these visions into reality. It takes knowledge of the technical and artistic possibilities and courage to reach them. Eyes, ears, heart, hands and the head.
In Kuetku we don't want to shackle our games inside one platform. We want them to be able to connect across boundaries, from mobile to wireless and further. We strive to enable people to play our games on their own desktops as well as on their mobile devices and continue one game session seamlessly on the go.
In the future, Kuetku Games will be known from its games which are of high quality and rich in ideas. The game studio also takes on experimental projects, bringing the studio fame as one of the pioneers in the game market and game development.
History
Kuetku Games was born in autumn 2005 during the Games and Virtual Environments course in the IT department of the University of Oulu. We found out that our team was creative and worked well together. ELVI-project, running at the same time gave us a spark to start a game development company. Our shared project for the course was Aristotle the Greek's Aether Party, a Greek mythology themed 2D platformer with multiplayer gameplay resembling the game of tag.
Projects
Currently we are working on several location-based game projects. First of these will soon be completed.
Other projects include a mobile game called Grand Trivia Auto, which provides entertainment for the passengers on car travelling trips. Also in the works is a series of games that augment certain health care services.
